In the spring of 2006 I finished up college and planned on moving back to Orlando where I had done a short internship with Walt Disney World a couple years earlier. During this time I met bubbly, energetic, always happy Michelle. She allowed me to stay with her between apartments and we quickly became friends. She and I had a common “problem” – her boyfriend, Ron, lived in her hometown of Cleveland and my boyfriend, Damon, lived in our hometown of San Antonio. We both had stories of traveling back and forth to see our loved ones, and countless times of falling asleep while on the phone with them. I ended up moving back to SA a year later and I knew Michelle and I would stay friends regardless of the distance.
Fast forward to summer 2009. June 21 Damon and I get engaged and almost exactly one month later Ron and Michelle get engaged. We have almost identical anniversary dates (with us being one year ahead) and our wedding dates are a week and a half apart. Is that cool or what?
The most recent trip out to Orlando involved me trying to convince them to do an engagement session at Magic Kingdom. (Michelle is a NUT for Disney – they’re even having a Disney wedding!!) The session was only two hours long with about 30 minutes of shooting due to poor Ron getting sick on the first ride we went on and it POURING over half the time we were there. I’m still very happy with the shots I got and now I can share them to you guys!
Ok looking through a viewfinder, shooting, hanging on to dear life way up in the sky while trying not to get sick is NOT an easy task. We had very little time to secure everything in teeny tiny amount of space before taking off. Damon started shooting them and he got sick with all the spinning so I tried to take over.
