Jason runs now!

Despite his new-found agility, they still don’t quite explain his uncanny ability to travel large distances almost instantly. He still goes from being out by the lake, to on top of the cabin, to inside the cabin, to out in the woods in a very short amount of time. But this has always been a Jason trademark, so it didn’t bother me much.

What DID bother me, though, was that it seemed as though they wanted to give Jason a small ounce of humanity, but didn’t even really try. At the beginning of the movie, they show the original ending with Ms. Voorhees getting beheaded, with Jason (supposedly) witnessing it. That small snippet sets up the killing of a small group of annoying teens (who discuss Camp Crystal Lake’s past), which sets up the killing of another group of annoying.. teens.. i think.

What ensues turns into the typical Friday the 13th movie. To be honest, it really didn’t need to be made. I saw nothing in this movie that hadn’t been done in the 10 previous installments of the series. At least Jason X tried to be different!
